Chengshanhou Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Western Shandong. The Chengshanhou Formation was named by Song Yuli and described by Zhang Zengqi (1996).
Lithology and Thickness
The Chengshanhou Formation is divided into 2 parts. Lower part is composed of yellowish grey, grayish green tuffaceous gravel-bearing sandstone interbedded with tuffaceous fine-grained sandstone. Upper part consists of grayish purple andesite breccias, intercalated with grayish green, yellowish tuffaceous sandy conglomerate and gravel-bearing sandstone. It is 343-2462 m in thickness.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The Chengshanhou Formation is conformably overlies the Fenshuiling Fm.
Upper contact
It is conformably underlying the Malianpo Fm.
Regional extent
The Chengshanhou Formation is distributed in western Shandong.
